A Devotional and Dinner at the Temple

Each December, the temple presidency plans a devotional and dinner for all temple ordinance workers, their spouses, and temple missionaries.
Today we attended President and Sister Wong's last devotional before they are released next October.
The devotional was held at the Kowloon Chapel.
Tender messages of gratitude, faith and love were given by
President and Sister Wong, President and Sister Funk, President and Sister Gong

President Gong spoke of a family he met in India.  The young daughters were saving their candy money in clay banks to help their family come to the temple to be sealed.  When one sister was tempted to spend her money, the other sister asked if the candy was more important than being a forever family.  She made the choice to continue saving for the day her parents and grandparents could come to the temple.
President Gong believes that Faith, Sacrifice, Dedication, and Holiness are what makes the Hong Kong Temple a special place.
When our faith comes together with the faith of the patrons, our Heavenly Father rewards us with a spiritual outpouring of blessings.
Wonderful messages to remind us of how blessed we are to be serving the Lord in His Holy House.

Elder Funk became the Asia Area President upon Elder Gong's release to become
a member of the Presidency of the Quorum of the Seventy
Dinner was held afterwards on level B2 of the temple;
also known as the parking garage, and a perfect area for such an occasion.
Elder and Sister Funk and President and Sister Hui sat with us,
Chans, Nora, and Balls at dinner.
Elder and Sister Gong and President and Sister Wong sat with Ngais, Lees, and Rancies
Sister Chow is one of our favorite ordinance workers.
I have learned a few things from her,
like the difference between giving a name and giving a sandwich.

Another Brother and Sister Chan,
only this good man was once the president of the Hong Kong Mission.
 Brother and Sister Chiang
I admire what Sister Ling has done to help in her community.
We see this Brother Chan almost every morning.  He is the temple's assistant recorder.
How old do you think he is?
He is so young looking that if it weren't for the fact that he is the bishop of his ward, we would think he is a teenager.

We both attend Island 1st Branch
They were just recently set apart as ordinance workers,
and we have been assigned to train them.

The dinner was delicious.  Pork, chicken, spring rolls were just a few dishes served.
Best of all, Sister Yuen prepared her scrumptious orange fish, and mango pudding.
What more could we ask for?

We love and appreciate our temple presidency
and all they do for us as workers in the Hong Kong China Temple.
