The discussion in Branch Presidency Meeting made a complete turn around
when Elder VanWagenen announced his and Sister VanWagenen's assignment had been changed.
This came as quite a surprise since their mission was not to end until April.
They had met with Elder Gong Friday evening to be issued another call, and a request to leave for Salt Lake two days later. Their assignment to serve as Asia Area Missionaries has come to an end.

I learned quite a lot from this outstanding woman during these past 8 months.
Tears were shed at church today
because of the tremendous impact these senior missionaries have had on many of us
while serving in the Island 1st Branch.
Elder and Sister VanWagenen are great examples of consecrating their lives to serving others and doing the Lord's work.
We await to hear where their next assignment takes them.
They will be greatly missed!
